Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-23 Hm, a few months ago, I was following the development of ZP, but due to my graduation, I didn't have time to follow the development process. Now, I'm working full-time and it appears that I did not miss very much. I have some ideas to improve Zenphoto, so I will probably start submitting patches to trac soon. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-23 I noticed that the bugtracker is a little polluted with spam... Is there anyone else besides trisweb who can delete comments on issues? Because this way, the bugtracker is not very usable and also gives a very bad impression to people new to the project trying to submit a bug report. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - thinkdreams - 2007-07-23 Those of us who are mods can work with stuff on the forums, but I don't believe that extends to the bugtracker or the trac wiki. Tris may be able to give one of us (or all three of us that are mods) access to perform deletes, etc. so that we can clean it up. Is that OK by you Tris? I'd be happy to go in there and clean up a bit. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-23 I fixed a large number of bugs (that are active). Many titles were deleted by spammers as well as general properties of the bugs. After I'm finished cleaning up the titles, I will try to triage bugs that are open and try to confirm them so the number of open issues will (hopefully) be reduced. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - La0c00n - 2007-07-23 I'm still waiting for the mail from trisweb to get an access for the svn. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - DarrellD - 2007-07-23 I'm sure some of you have noticed a lack of services on my part in the forums. I'm sorry to say, but I have to take a 3yr hiatus. If you've read my blog, you'll know that I'll be starting a very intense 2.5yr program at school in August. I need to focus my attention on that. If you guys would like to take any code from any of the hacks/plugins that I've developed, please feel free to do so. I'll be keeping an eye out for ZenPhoto since I still plan on using it for my own site, but I cannot work on developing any themes/hacks for it any longer. Thanks. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-23 I've restored the titles of all bugs which are 'active' in Trac, and most of the closed bugs as well (issues which has 1.1 or lower as milestone). I need to restore a small number of closed issues (this can be handy for future reference) and then I need to check the validity of all active issues. I think a clean and up to date issue tracker makes it easier for people to browse outstanding issues on Zenphoto and create patches for them, and it is useful for developers to maintain an overview of the outstanding issues. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - xiaozj - 2007-07-24 Just want to chime in that I have been eagerly awaiting the update since even before summer began, so it is good to hear that this project is going to get up to speed again... the script was good but some key features were lacking (image rotation, EXIF, subalbum support), I neither have the time or expertise to go into the code myself, so I waited for all this time with not much happening (I generally check up the site/forum/roadmap every other day). Hopefully something will happen soon, and I won't loose hope yet for such a well thought-out and executed gallery script, I'll stay around to see what happens. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-24 If more developers are working on Zenphoto, it may be useful to start a mailinglist on which developers can discuss their plans and issues. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - La0c00n - 2007-07-24 Why not open an IRC channel... Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-24 That is also an option However, I don't have very much time during the day to spend time on IRC. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Guest - 2007-07-25 Just wanted to show my support and appreciation here. I have been using ZP for quite a while now and I have been loving it every day. I hope Tristan finds time with or without the help of others to keep working on this project. Thanks again! Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Chilifrei64 - 2007-07-25 Or you could just use the chat on zenphoto.com Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - trisweb - 2007-07-26 I recommend the chat, or just the forums. They're a good place to discuss. Chat's more real-time though, so that's cool. I want to organize a group of developers, as I've had several offers of people wanting to help. I'd like to give SVN access to one person to start so they can help me filter/check in code and manage the codebase, and eventually give access to the whole group. I'd say 4-5 people so far have expressed interest, which is great! I'll keep you guys posted here (and over e-mail if you've contacted me). GameDudeX, I'm sorry to hear you'll be leaving us, but no worries. Do what you need to do and enjoy life, see you later! Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - Msturm10 - 2007-07-26 I think I have removed all spam comments on the active tickets in Trac. I'm also planning to do this for the already closed tickets. After that's finished, I will try to keep the issue tracker in a clean state, so that it provides a clear overview of the current state of Zenphoto. I'm also planning to go through the active issues and set the milestones and priorities to a reasonable value, based on the roadmap that's available in Trac. If anyone notices unwanted comments (probably this is spam), please let me know at my msturm10 [ at ] gmail. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - jlang - 2007-07-26 Glad to see that there are people still interested in moving the project along. I don't really have the time or want to get too heavily involved in development, but I'll watch what's happening and contribute patches etc when I have anything to give. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - mannkind - 2007-07-27 @msturm10 Thanks for your work. I did a few earlier that I noticed when I was looking at my geocoding trac entry. I've been looking at some of the issues with a 1.0.9 or 1.1 milestone. If anyone has any input on them (especially ones I'm having trouble reproducing) let me know. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - DarrellD - 2007-07-27 Thanks tristan. Keep in mind, I don't plan on leaving for good, just while I get my stuff together. In the words of our governator... I'll be back. Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - aitf311 - 2007-08-07 Has anyone gotten SVN permission yet? Its been a month and I haven't heard anything yet?! Let Someone Else Take ZP Over! - La0c00n - 2007-08-07 I still haven't got any news from tristan. |
