The text on your image is a problem with the stopdesign theme which is corrected in the nightly build.

Integrating zenpage with stopdesign will be a bit more of a problem because of the theme. There are two themes which integrate zenpage--zenpage-default of course, and Effervescence+ each uses a different technique of integrating. However, there is a conflict with the stopdesign theme with both methods, so you will have to come up with a customized approach.

The x of x image display is optional, you can turn it of in the options. The theme is actually not set up to have space for that. If you want that to be displayed you need to change the css of the theme.

About the slideshow, I have no idea why that is not working actually.

Themes in wordpress and zenphoto are independent of each other. Each can have its own default.

not one works with the slideshow

I got the slideshow to work by turning off auto-height and setting a height of 600 (default theme) and 800 (Effervescence+).
