After updating from 1.4.10 to 1.4.12, the index page is no longer displayed after login. It remains the login page.

where is after logging the ($ __ redirect) set?
after updating to 1.4.12, the index page is no longer displayed.

Did you contact the theme's author? If it works in the official themes for you it is a theme issue and then it's his task to fix that. I quickly tested it and it seems to work.
And as always the usual question: What errors in the error log?
