Been on a zillion forums and so far no help.

My problem...I have a navigation button "Daily Dog" in which I want to be able to click on the button and NOT go to a page but just a photo. Under that photo I want to be able to click a link "previous" to get to the previous day's photo.
Is this even possible? I just want to display ONE pic a day and have the previous days go into a archive somewhere but still be able to access it from the 'previous' button on that days photo.
Is this program what I need or is this just for making galleries? Also, I have wordpress. Does it work with wordpress? Is this just a matter of creating permalinks? And how?

This is certainly all possible with zenphoto. Search the forums for zenphoto and wordpress, and also have a look at the tutorials.
