is there a way to remove or modify it ?

Removing is not possible because Zenphoto would mistake it for an album (this means also you can't have an album named "pages" or "news" if you use modrewrite), but it is possible to rename:

I would like to do the same thing, unfortunately the link acrylian provided isn't working any more and I cannot fine any useful information in the FAQ. Could anybody help out plese?
