Hi i just installed zenphoto.
I made the mysql database... I changed everything in the .php file. I changed the permissions to 777 in albums and cache...
i ran setup.php
And so far so good. So i thought it's all installed perfectly.
We'll i thought wrong...
If i go to my admin and upload a photo to a new folder.
And after the upload is complete i go to see the gallery...
There is no thumbnail, there is no foto. And if you click on the folder it says folder not found kinda message.
OR you have no permissions to view this folder is another message i get...

I just had (as it looks) the exact same problem, installation fine, login as admin fine, uploading fine (picture was physicaly in map shown by ftp), BUT no thumbnails/pictures shown in the gallery/album...
The solution proposed in this tread http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=763 turning mod_rewrite in zp-config.php from "true" into "false", worked for me.
Maybe it will for you too.

Nope didn't do the trick for me...
Please can somebody help me?
When i upload from the ADMIN part...
it doesn't give errors...
but there is no picture physically in the folder on my ftp account... there are folders... but no pictures...

(when i upload using ftp... the problem remains?!)

when i click on the folder in www.tagoean.be/zenphoto
i get a not found error... because he goes to www.tagoean.be/zenphoto/test
And the right target is www.tagoean.be/zenphoto/albums/test
But even though the permissions on albums is 777
Then the browser says: NO PERMISSION TO VIEW this folder...
PLZ help me i'm begging all you smart people out there

The difference between www.website.x/zenphoto/test and www.website.x/zenpphoto/albums/test is none in this case it is just the internal redirection.

Both "Albums" & "Cache" folder should have the right permissions. AND everything in it as well
example: if you forget to set the permissions in the folders an then put someting in it. Those files will not automaticly be set with the right permisions when you later set the folder permissions. -
if pictures do not show up also check the gd-library as stated in this post.

Without the gd-lib zenphoto will NOT display any pictures. Not even while uploading the picture
