I am new to zenPhoto. How can I transfer without any error my website from one server to another server?

First of all thanks for reply:
In destination server, I dont have installed the zenPhoto. There is a website which is in Wordpress and I want to replace it.
Should I still use this documentation?

Are you saying you want to transfer the data from Zenphoto into your Wordpress site? I am not sure that is directly possible as the data/table structures would be very different.

Or are you wanting to use Zenphoto with Wordpress like they do on this web site? if so see http://www.zenphoto.org/2010/04/wordpress-importer/ and/or http://www.zenphoto.org/2009/11/zenphoto-wordpress-tools/... I have not used either myself but they might give you some information.

Or do you want to NOT use Wordpress but replace it totally with Zenphoto? If so you should be able to install zenphoto on your new server and restore a zenphoto backup....

I want to remove WP and install ZPhoto. So, after new installation of ZPhoto. I should update the backup folders on new installation as it is mentioned in link:

For moving your current install to the other server you should follow those instructions.

You should also understand that Wordpress and Zenphoto are really different systems. You can't literally replace Wordpress with Zenphoto by just installing one of them in the same "place".

You can however import certain data from Wordpress to Zenphoto using the utility on the admin overview page. This requires the CMS plugin Zenpage. But use this on your own risk and read the limitation noted on that tool.

I created a new database and using FTP. I put the new installation files for zenPhoto. then, I uploaded the: cache,album,template folder to replace the installation folder.

This process I did from X server to Y server.
What should I do next, I mean what are the important folders that, I should not overwrite?

I did that steps now it after setting database info, It asks for password, which I tried both reset and the one I have. But it is not working:
There was an error logging in.
Check your username and password and try again

It does not sound like you followed the instructions. Perhaps step 4 confused you. This describes using the Zenphoto backup utility to create a database backup, not doing some kind of MySQL database backup.

The instructions, if followed, will start you out with virgin database. Such an initial condidion does not require a login.

I would recommend starting over since we really do not know what it in the database you created. But if you wish, you can follow the steps in the troubleshooting guide for resetting your password.

Even, I renamed the username from Database. But, It was not accepting. Now, I want to do all the process from scratch:

1. I should Installe new ZPhoto.
2. Copy all my theme and plugins to destination server.
   3.Copy the albums and cache folders to destination server.
3. Export the database using Database backup tool. WHAT TOOL SHOULD I USE FOR.
4. copy all backup folder to root of destination server. DOES IT POINT TO ALL ZENPHOTO FOLDERS FROM SOURCE TO DESTINATION?

On your new server you should do a fresh Zenphoto install now, which means you should clear the database you want to install it (aks your host if you don'T know how to do that.

If you used the Zenphoto backup utility you will find a folder named "backup" which contains the database backup of your Zenphoto installtion. That is the folder to copy, it does not "point" anywhere...

Please make sure the htaccess file is correct (setup will tell you) and also review your server error log (ask your host about if unsure)

1.I am sorry How can I know that my .htaccess file is ok or not?

2. In default theme it shows some picture. but only in my theme.

1. Run setup and read what it tells you.
2. We can't support custom themes. If standard themes work and yours does not, yours is not setup correctly. You will have to figure out yourself.

You think SHOUTING will help....? Answer: backup utility.

OK, not sure how far you have gone as it would seem that you have tried to do this more than once... my backup process works like this.

Assuming the OLD server is working. Is it using the same version of Zenpahoto you are going to use on the NEW server, if not update it to the newer version. (always backup BEFORE you do that update, just in case).

Install zenphoto on NEW server, make sure it is the same version as the OLD server install.

Ensure Zenphoto on the NEW server is working as it should be.

On the OLD server obtain a copy of your sites specific files, they will be (depending on version of course)

1. Albums Folder
2. zp_data folder
3. /themes/yourtheme folder
4. if you have added any watermarks or other edits to anything in the root plugins folder get those as well

Upload 1, 2, 3 and 4 to your working zenphoto site on the NEW server into the same folders as they were in your OLD server

Now go back to your OLD servers zenphoto admin and create a backup of the DB using the backup utility... a button exists on the OVERVIEW admin page.

Go to your OLD servers FTP and download the backup just created.

Upload that backup to your NEW servers backup folder in zenphoto

Go to your NEW servers admin and then to the backup/restore utility and you should see the backup you just created available in the restore drop down list. Select it and select the restore button. Follow any and all prompts.

When done your site on the NEW server should be working as it was on the OLD server. If not check error logs, it might be permission issues as one server can be set-up quite different to another server.

I hope that explains it as clear as can be understood. As acrylian said the info is there you just need to follow it step by step and check each step is completed.
