am I just blind or is there really no way to search this forum?!?

You are not blind. This theme is new as of this morning and you are correct, there is no search field on the new theme here. In the mean time you can just use this
http://www.zenphoto.org/support/search.php
also you will notice the tags on the left there, that is a kinda way to search the forum.
