Questions: Remane image Name - filesystem - veez - 2011-11-23
Good morning!
I have two questions
- Concerning the "imagefilename" could I change it directly in the back-end? And using the "rename file" utility without creating any issue in the database?
- I am not a developer and I would like to ask you How you generally back up the whole gallery (in case the server screw up)?

If you use the rename functionality on the backend that updates also the database. If you do this via ftp it would create an issue.
- Backup the database using the backup tool on the admin overview page. Best set an automatic backup
- Backup your /albums folder
- Backup any custom theme or else

Also note that in additiont there is a plugin to automatically backup on a periodic basis.
I would recommen that as it is the "mindless" way to do the backups.

I selected the plug-in "auto-back-up", that's great !
So for the image file-name of pictures I will change it in the back-end.
