For testing purpose I'm trying to install it on my local machine. I installed mysql on my Mac and am able to log into the database through the terminal application, i.e. directly on the database, without using zenphoto.

However if I put exactly the same login credentials into config.php, Zenphoto answers with "MySQL Error: Could not connect to the database server." Mysql-deamon is running and all, I tried to switch off my Mac's firewall. Same problem. Can anybody help me?

i got the same error at one point, make sure the username + password match up - otherwise you will get this error.

Thanx for your reply. I tried with the same username and password once for directly connecting to the mysql-console - it works. The same username & password on zenphoto-config.php - it doesn´t... Any idea to what might be the problem is appreciated.
