I noticed the download package now says 1.0.1. just out of courisity... what has changed from 1.0b to 1.0.1?

Nevermind.. I downloaded the package and read the changelog..

You should modify the change log on the front page of the site so lazy people like me dont post stupid questions.

Is there an ETA for sub-albums? I'm launching a site, and the gallery I'm going to use has to have sub-albums. ZenPhoto by far my first choice, but I really need sub-albums

Since when has sub-albums been done? I don't see anything in the changelog specifying that and I have the latest version. I see nothing about sub-albums.

What craziness ;-) We're considering adding WeiChen to the development team now.

tdevlin, subalbums has not been done yet in the main release. WeiChen was talking about his work, which we hope to integrate soon.

trisweb,

Thank you very much for releasing and continuing to improve this awesome gallery tool. I am planning to switch my site over to Zen Photo but am starting to get nervous for the release of sub albums. Unfortunately, I'm leaving the country in a few months and need to get the new gallery running asap. So, not to pressure you or peg you down--but I was wondering if you had a better idea of when the sub albums will be released? I really want to go with Zen Photo, but I have to have everything sorted well before I leave so I'm just trying to gauge if I should wait it out or if it's still months away.

Thanks, and I appreciate all of your hard work.

i am unfortunately going to have to de-recommend this to my friends. i'd told them back in january that subfolders would be coming soon, but it is now almost april. can't keep them waiting any longer. i know it's a completely free utility, and i appreciate all the work that's been done, and you've done a great job. but if you could maintain and update a "status of zenphoto" somewhere, it may've prevented the problems i have been having, and prevented dissapointment without countless people.

Is this project still alive? Anyone?

I know I am not much of a programmer but this project seems to need to be opened up some as it is stalled. There are features of this project that I think kick ass and would love to see it go forward but there doesn't seem to be a developer community it seems to be a closed source project with many leafs. WeiChen has gone and developed a project based on this and I would like to help clean the CSS and main layout up even further. Too many classes, ids and spans for my taste, subfolders and searches need to be added here also. The only other feature I really want is categories. I like the idea of cross categorizing without subfolders and this would only ad one simple table to the db. I have watched many different OS projects over the years and now find one that I think is perfect and it is hindered by overburdened project developers.

My solution is a user submission system where developers can add snippets and sections or improvements that are then reviewed by the dev team or a member and then either implemented or dropped. In addition, having one or two people tackling one segment of the the project path such as search or sub folders instead of each doing a little here and a little there which doesn't get new working functions out and makes the project look stale.

I thank all the members of the dev team and wish the best in their other lives, lets open up and make this the best script it can possibly be.

Okay. Yes, I am guilty of a longwinded diatribe.

Here is the condensed version:

Great Script, busy dev team, want to help, and get others to do so also. Make killer script!

I'm starting to think that this project is dead or dying.

For a non expert coders like me, I'm finding it VERY hard to get anywhere with Zenhphoto. Managed to install it ok after a bug in the installer was fixed, and get the basics working fine.

BUT none of my many questions on the forum other than this have been answered - this doesn't bade well if you look at the levels of activity on other forums.

I fully appreciate that everyone working on Zenphoto is busy and probably has better things to do (aren't we all ;-) but it would still be really nice to learn how to use Zenphoto on my blog - or to be able to include special characters or links in my image descriptions without having to hard code them.

Anyhow, rant over, look forward to the project moving forward :-)

For the love of God, the project is NOT dead. Have some patience, people. We are open source programmers, and no one is paying us to cater to your every whim, so calm down and take it as it is. Negative feedback will not speed up the process.

This is a young, fairly inactive project, and my first one at that. I've made mistakes, and I'm learning. Please bear with me.
