When I'm logged in to zenphoto the gallery page looks and functions properly but when just on line browsing, the gallery button and thumbnail window don't show so you can't access the gallery directly. I've tried everything that's obvious to me, I guess I broke it, what am I doing wrong?

You mean the album thumb? Do you have the album set as published?
