Hi There,
I have spent a couple hours working with Zenphoto. I had 1.16 installed and upgraded to 1.17 and everything was fine.
As I have been learning Zenphoto; I use FTP to up load pictures (wonderful feature!). I didn't realize that when FTP'd the images are not re-sized. My camera takes 6MB pictures and I wanted to be space sensitive on my server. I decided to delete my install + databases and start over - a fresh install of 1.17 - (Plus I cleaned out other stuff)
Here's my problem: I installed 1.17 in a cinch! I uploaded a folder with about 60 pics to the album folder. Then wanted to edit the pictures gallery from Zenphoto admin.
Album guest user & pass has my admin name 'pre-loaded' & Album password pre-loaded. (I don't recall that happening before.) I can't edit anything unless I repeat the admin password - then it locks the album gallery to anyone else but me.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled 1.17 3-4 times with the same result. I want the album to be visible to everyone. How to remove my admin user/pass from the album guest user/pass?
Thanks,
J
Passwords may be set in the following places:
on the gallery configuration tab for the gallery and search passwords
on individual album edit pages for the album in question.
When are you getting the login screen? When you visit the gallery page or when you click on an album?
Perhaps a link to your site might help.
I login fine.
Gallery configuration guest user/pass is blank.
admin user/pass has my credentials.
my album has admin user/pass there by default. If I repeat the pass on the album I lock the album from general view
As you can see in this picture. I wanted to show you what I see. I changed my user/pass for the illustration. Every time I edit the album and 'save' it tells me that the passwords don't match. If I enter the second password then the album locks. This is the same user/pass as the admin account.

I don't have any passwords in the above quoted area. Only the admin user/pass.

image required for above.
No - last time I installed it I purged my browser prior to install. Last step and only time to insert anything was the admin user and pass. So I entered and the user and pass on the albums have the admin user pass on them as explained above.
Can I delete it? Or
How do I avoid it being entered?
Thanks,
J
Seem to have resolved my own problem.
Instead of installing the 1.1.7.zip I downloaded the 1.1.7.tar.gz unzipped and installed that. Also, instead of using Firefox. I used IE7.
The admin user/pass is setup and the album/gallery doesn't have a user/pass preset.
option -> gallery configuration doesn't have a user/pass.
So either there's a bug in 1.1.7.zip or there's a bug with using Firefox. I did clear history, cookies, offline data etc... in firefox as well as in IE7 for the install.
For sure it's Firefox trying to be helpful and entering the user/pass. The issue is that once the user/pass get inputted into the album/gallery you can't delete it. (It shows up in IE7 too.) It also impacts any 'edit' updates you do to the album as Zenphoto will complain that the user/pass doesn't match anytime you 'save' after making a change.
My suggestion would be that zenphoto doesn't except an album gallery user/pass unless it's the password has been 'repeated' and or the save button has been depressed.
Thanks,
J
First glad to hear that IE is able to solve problems at all..:-)
I never noticed this behaviour. The solution would actualy be to disable the form completion in Firefox (Options > Security > Store passwords, have a German version running so I don'T know the correct english term right now) which is generally recommend for security reasons.
