I just downloaded Zenphoto today. It looks like it has a number of features I've been wishing for, but I'm confused about a couple things.

First, I see a place to enter "custom data" and also location, date, copyright, etc, but I don't see any place on the album or image pages where that data appears or can be accessed.

Second, there is a link to a thickbox labelled "image info"; Where is that data input and can I substitute some php for a pricing schedule?

Finally, I've noticed that images which were copied to more than one album appear in search results multiple times. Is there any way to filter out the images which are in more than one album from the search results?

1. You have to add the function to display it. For custom data that is a function called printCustomData(). More info about all available functions in our functions guide. Also I recommend to read our theming tutorial to get familiar with Zenphoto themes in general.

2. That info is either fill with exif data that is attached to your images or entered manually in the extra fields of the same name.

3. No, except not having the same image in several albums. You can also use dynamic albums to have the same image in several contexts. Please see our user guide for that, too.

Thanks for putting me on the correct path. You'll have to excuse my second question as I'm sort of an old guy and was only vaguely aware that that information was available, but it certainly doesn't appear on my old Rollei camera or on the old Photoshop I use.

You are welcome. I think even older Photoshop versions have support for EXIF data. And of course there are other programs that can do that.

The EXIF/IPTC data might actually exist in your old copy of Photoshop--that is if it is not so old that it includes Adobe Bridge. That piece of software will allow you to edit these fields.

But of course, you will have to check your notes for your Rollei since it probably did not engrave the info on the negative.

Yeah, the Rollei is pretty primitive; the Photoshop probably does have a way to add the data, but I was so busy learning just how to work with the image itself that I avoided even looking at unrelated tools. Now, I've got so much in my head that I've probably put off the altzheimers for another 20 years or so.
