How do you get around the conflicts of having pretty names on both your WP and ZP installations?

My folder setup is:

-wp-content
-wp-includes
-wp-admin
-zenphoto

and the .htaccess in my root affects the 'zenphoto' directory. How do I stop this?

Should I just not have pretty names on my 'zenphoto' install?

Sorry, I can't help, we have it that way on zenphoto.org without any problems.

OK, if it's working on zenphoto.org, is there any chance I could see the .htaccess code for both the wp and zp installations.

Understand it's a big ask, but this has been major headache for over a couple of weeks now and I would be incredibly grateful for a solution. It's had me up nights.
