A HREF links are allowed in descriptions by default. Unless you removed the "A" tag from the allowed tags area in Admin, you should have no problem adding links in descriptions. Which build are you using?

1.2 is the version, not the build. Are you using the nightly build of 1.2? If not, you should give it a try - it will likely fix the problem for you.

As for the "A" tag, I was referring to the HTML Anchor tag.

Links are supported in descriptions by default. No modifications are necessary to place a link in a description.
