Does anyone know if anyone has attempted to add a way you can select multiple files when you upload. If they have why was it abandoned?

If no one has done it then is there a desire by the community to have something like this. I am willing to take a stab at this is people want something like this.

My plan would be to use a java plugin instead of using flash. Two reason for this Java is on all platforms and more importantly Java is open source.

Just noticed there is another topic on this already. I also didn't know about the zip file upload through the admin site so perhaps this really isn't a priority.

You can always use ftp to upload, too.

Although I hate Facebook with a burning passion I do love the way the user can upload photos to their gallery - it is very easy, quick and you can even crop and rotate images before clicking upoad

Now a feature like this would make zenphoto an all singing all dancing app Just a thought developer peeps

I'm all for keeping things simple and un-cluttered that's why I choose to use zenphoto. However, this kind of addition would make the whole process smoother, not worse... You have to agree, other than the fab way it auto finds new images/folders of images within the albums folder and the .zip upload functions it is not really that much fun manually editing sometimes 100's of images (depending on the size of your gallery) before uploading...

All ZP needs is a user friendly way of uploading and basic image editing. Nothing too special, just an easier way than how it is done at the moment.

Think of it as a part of ZP's GUI and not an update/plugin. If you had seen facebooks uploader then you have to note how easy it makes life!

We have on our list a simple cropping tool for custom crops for thumbnails. And image rotate based on exif is on the list, too,if I am not wrong.

How is that more fun while uploading then?...:-)

You might try the Zenpage plugin. Theoretically you can move your albums folder into the uploaded folder and use the included ajax file manager (3rd party solution) to edit them. It includes an image editor like you want.
