The development team have agreed on October 1, 2008 as the schedule for releasing the first set of bug fixes to Zenphoto 1.2.

Now is your chance to contribute to the impact of this release. Download the nightly builds and run them through their paces. Report any problems you find. The earlier a problem is reported the better chance that the fix will become part of the 1.2.1 release.

These nightly builds have been very stable and little new development has gone in so there is little risk of them having problems new to the Zenphoto 1.2 base.

Great news!
Would those plugins work with zp1.2.1 with no problem?
I mean the stopdesign theme.

Stopdesign is one of the four standard themes and will be included as always.

The only thing that exists at the moment is the change log for the trunk http://www.zenphoto.org/trac/log/trunk. Click on the Revision log link that is under the menu bar on the top right of the page.

zenphoto-2008-09-14-trunk.zip
From fresh start this allows the creating of admin name & password but when you click to addNewadmin nothing happens...

This is working for me in release [2452]. Does expanding and collapsing the other admin fields work? There are two ways, first clicking on the user name. Second you can use the links at the top of the list.

I'm still dreaming of giving username/password for each visitor via ADMIN INFORMATION, and not having them have the ability to change them (seeing the Admin toolbox). The username/password via GALLERY INFORMATION is one that only allows 1 person to use or must be shared with all users. View only of published albums, no other privileges whatsoever.

I agree with macalter. I need this option as well, since I cannot make different passwords for different galleries/albums.

And also for us newbies: A detailed howto about how to upgrade. I find the one already in use not complete.. Detailed instructions wanted

But you can make different passwords for the gallery and each first level album!

Give us a hint. What do you think is missing from the current upgrade instructions?

Well i cannot figure out the password thing. If I try to set an album password, im not allowed to enter. (yes, im sure ive typed it correct ). So I have to set a gallery password, but that allowas all users to access all images?

Regarding upgrades, I miss detailed instruction on what to do with the older files. Shall I delete any files. Shall I just upload all the files in the new version? What will happen to the albums/images already uploaded??

Regarding updates: On update you should only replace the zp-core folder and the root files like index.php or rss.php (also the maybe invisible .htaccess file).

Of course you should not delete or overwrite your albums folders with your images! That should be logical..:-)

Also if you made a custom theme or modification to one of the themes you of course should not overwrite that, too.

And if it not run automatically you need to run zp-core/setup.php

In 1.2 it seems that if an image is wider than 2560 pixels it is still listed in the database (the width column of the images table) as being 2560 pixels wide. Is it increased with 1.2.1? I frequently need to add images that have up to 5120x1600 pixels.

I am sorry, I don't really understand what you are asking. The only limit of sizes would be by your server: http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/08/troubleshooting-zenphoto/#11

Interesting, it seems to be fixed with the latest nightly build anyway, I installed it and it is saving the widths properly. With 1.2 if there was a 5120x1600 image, in the database it would say it was 2560x1600.
Then I just copied the latest nightly build on top of the 1.2 one, updated using setup.php and now it's working as it should, I didn't change any server settings.
I've also noticed quite a few other bugs have been fixed since the 1.2 release, which I am very grateful for. Good job.
