I think the installation guide is not so well detailed.
I have big trouble to install zenphoto 1.2 over a 1.0.8 and I m not sure the script did the installation correctly.
I lost commentaries.
I want to be sure if I put the album folder in the zenphoto it s going to be ok (because the db lost the datas on the upgrade process...)

You probably did not loose your database entries, instead you probably gave zenphoto a different table prefix than you were using on the 1.0.8 version. (You are also installing version 1.2.1--it is important to provide us with correct information if you want our help.)

I did not mention the prefix to the setup script.

How can I do a clean install, I still have the album folder with the pictures and I have a sql backup of the database.

Use a tool like PHPMyAdmin to look at the tables in your database. You will probably find that there are two of each with different prefixes. Just change the prefix to the one that was originally used.

I can show you a past/copy of the tables,
I think I need to reinstall the 1.0.8, restore the database and do the upgrad again correctly, is that correct.
Or what can I do if I creat an other database, relaod the sql backup. Upgrad with the 1.2.1 ?

It may be that too much has changed from 1.0.8. (I was not involved with zenphoto then.) Maybe your best bet is to upgrade to an earlyer version first. You can find older versions here: http://www.zenphoto.org/files/

I decided to upgrade because of the spaming, everyday I have twenty comments about viagra and so with links and all the sç%&t. I have to do a big clean everyweek to not be ridiculous

I don't see anything about comments configuration (activate or not) in the config file.

Sorry, can't help you there. 1.0.8 is ancient history. The current zenphoto has multiple choices of spam filtering, but of course, you would have to be running on this version to make use of the features.

I would suggest you try upgrading first to verson 1.1 then to later versions. If you make an upgrade leap that does not work, try installing an intermediate version.

It looks like your zenphoto tables haven't been created. You may need to run the setup script.

You can use FTP to upload your images. Actually zenphoto does not care how you get them into the albums folder. It just discovers what is there.
