I was using an older version of this theme previously and an older version of ZenPhoto and my Simpleviewer worked.

Somehow, since installing this new zenphoto and using this new version of effervescence+, Simpleviewer doesn't work. At the bottom of the public gallery, there's a slash through Simpleviewer. How come?

By the way, I think the downloadable zip and tar.gz files on the frontpage of zenphoto.org are corrupt. I can't seem to download a proper version at all today.

Check to be sure you have mod_rewrite set. Simpleviewer will not work without it.

Edit: Just tired the downloads. Both worked fine for me.

Thanks SBillard, I got it to work by enabling mod_rewrite!...

Somehow the downloads don't work for me. I wonder if it could have been my internet connection. I'll have to check on that.

Anyway, thanks for all your help. And can't wait for Effervescence 2.0!

Effervescence 2.0! will be an entirely different animal. Stephane is doing that one and there are no plans to add it to the official themes.

I am sorry, I can't reproduce it. iBoth downloads extract fine with on Mac OS X (built-in-extractor and Stuffit Expander).
