im new to zen photo. i am using version 1.2.3 but it has some bugs like in comment.
my question is: how can i get the latest fixed version?
should i download the nightly build every while and update my gallery?
and how the update should be? only over right all the files or some files?
and how can i know the modifications that is included in every nightly version?
i just need some info.

We make what we call the "nightly built" each evening at about 2300 Pacific time. That release contains all the new fixes (and maybe some new development.) You can find the nightly builds here http://www.zenphoto.org/files/nightly/.

Be forewarned, sometimes the nightly build will have new errors in it as it (naturally) has not had a great deal of testing. By all means, use it if you are having problems that it should solve, it is usually stable. But it would be a good idea to test it in your environment to be sure it is an improvement.

1-2 are things you need to configure on your server. THese are optionally if you don't need what the error describes you can ignore it.

Re: 3: You probably did not update correctly. You need to replace all the files/folders mentioned with the ones of the nighty. Best delete the old ones first and the copy the new ones.

i am not updating. i am installing the new zenphoto. its a new install.
i still believe there is errors in the new version 1.2.3, the old one was more stable
please issue a newer stable version for the new users because the one u have now is not working in any sense.

ive used the last 15 feb night version and still have the same error that some files are missing. which is not true at all. ive checked all the files and they are on the server.

If you did a clean install it might still work. The notes you got are actually "warning hints" that something "might" be wrong (as said in hte note itself), but does not need to.

The warning is actually that the files might be missing OR they have a variance in their timestamp that seems unreasonable. So it is probably the latter that is happening on your server. From the nightly build of 2/14 all these files should have a data/timestamp of 2/14/09 11:01 PM as downloaded. The files on your server may have the timestamp of when they were uploaded. However, even if the timestamp is of the upload all the files should have approximately the same timestamp. Most likely your upload was not successful. Or maybe it took quite a long time to make the upload.

i donno about timestamp, all what i've done is removed the old gallery and started a new gallery from scratch using the nightly build of 15-feb.

and yes it took about 15min to upload so that is the reason!

the gallery is working very well regardless the warnings, but i just wanted to be sure all is fine, u can test the gallery online, it dose not contain media yet but please have a look.

I can't really tell anything from visiting the gallery. There may be some files that are not copied from the release. For instance, the rss-news-comments.php file above is about an hour older than the other two. That by itself should be OK. What is the file time of the zp-core/version.php file as compared to the other files? The files are supposed to be within one hour of that file.

Same problem on unzipped zenphoto archive 1.2.6 (warning about variance for .htaccass)

Get thing running on linux with command:
find /my/zen/gallery/path/ -exec touch '{}' \;

Replace all modified file time with the current time.
