3 weeks ago I posted about problems with comments taking forever to submit. I eventually tracked the problem down to the Akismet plugin. Without the Akismet plugin enabled, comments take a couple of seconds to submit. With the Akismet plugin enabled, comments take over a minute to submit. I know the Akismet plugin is user submitted so I hope the author sees this.

For now, I'll have to try something else. How's Mollom working for everyone?

I had the same problem with the huge lag in the comment submission, it took me weeks to realize it was Akismet doing it, I must have deleted and reinstalled Zenphoto at least 3 times! I've disabled it now and am getting a lot of spam now.. I hope there's a solution!

I have the same problem with askimet and have mollom just takes me to a blank screen so not using a spam filter at the moment. Will have a look later at seeing if I can get mollom to work myself without using the plugin.

Similar problem with long delays with posted comments, but I've also been noticing that the comments seems to be bypassing the filter as far as the RSS feeds are concerned. Even comments held for moderation are still immediately available on the RSS feed.

With the next Zenphoto version Akismet and Mollom will not be included in the Zenphoto package anymore.
Both were actually provided by users and since we developers don't use akisment and mollom we can't support them anymore.

As to the comments rss feed, that is indeed a bug. I think I found it. Fix will be in tonight's nightly.
