I tried it on two seperate servers. A completely new installation(1.2.6), default theme, turning ZenPages on. Then I edit a page, save it and click to view it and there's always "Page not found". I can't figure it out myself. During the installation process there was a warning about magic_quotes_gpc beeing turned on.

Only the zenpage-default theme (not the default theme) and the efferescence+ theme have support for Zenpage.
