I have read the post on unsharp images. I think my problem is different.

I have set the admin options for thumbnail, normal and full images to 100% and purged cache.

My "Normal" images, the ones after you click on the thumbnail, are clearly blurry.

How can I fix this?

Sounds like you have set your image quality too low.

BTW, both the thumnails and the Normal images are blurry and both are set to 100.
The orginal image is crystal clear.

Have you changed those settings? If so you will need to purge your cache to see the results. Normally a quality of 75-85 will be just fine. Are you applying a sharpening mask? [btw, your original post indicated that you set the sharpening to 100%, at least the way I read it--no mention of image quality.]

Sorry for having used %.

Due to the e of the blurriness I did change the default image quality settings to 100 for thumbnails, normal and full image types. No sharpening. I have cleared the cache after doing this multiple times.

The thumbnail and normal images are still blurry. The original is crystal clear.

You can go to dgkurtz.com/zenphoto, click on "support" and use "support" for a password to see what I'm talking about.

I guess I do not know. Try 85 on your quality and see if it is different. Maybe the GD library has some problems with 100.

the image quality of hte thumbnail and normal image is still bad after changing the setting to 85 and clearing the cache.
Are you telling me that you dont see this problem on your site?
My photos are typically at 5 megapixels, with a filesize of round 2-3MB.
Any other thoughts?

I also don't have this problem. Sure GD is correctly set on your server and that your browser cache isn't playing tricks after changing settings? How about posting a link so we can take a look ourselves?

I solved the problem by enabling sharpening (to 100) for both the thumbnails and Images.
