I took me (somewhat of a PHP rookie) a few hours to figure out how to do this so thought I would share. From lightbox I wanted people to see smaller images, but be able to have a link to download the full image. Here is the snipet of code that worked for me.

hi guys, i'm very new in PHP & JQuery. I have a site I did in joomla I need a script Jquery or PHP to allow the user to download the image. I wouls like to have this butn next 'Close' butn from lightbox...THANKS!

you could set your lightbox to display a full image link which in turn you set via backend to be download.
