First: Installation of Zenphoto 1.2.8 worked in the past.
Now I navigate to install.php ...
there appear some warnings (magic quotes and ISO-8859-1) but no errors ...
then I change the settings for my mysql database and click "save" ...
and nothing more!
Just an error message that I don't have the permission to call "zp-core/setup.php".
Maybe I could try to install Zenphoto 1.2.8 and upgrade afterwards, but I would prefer just installing 1.2.9.

The warnings should not interfere with the script; they are warnings and nothing more. From the error message, I can only assume that your problem is permissions-related, so I would suggest double-checking your permissions, especially setup.php.
It might also help to have the exact error message and some information about your server.

After all I installed 1.2.8 and updated afterwards.
So I can't the errors back. ;-)
But I don't think it were the permissions, because I tried it with all possibilities (up to 777).
Maybe there will be other posts in the future that verify the problem.
