I would like to run ZenPhoto off a little NAS box that has an embedded webserver. I have it installed, but creating the cached images brings the box with the embedded processor to its knees. Is there a way to create the cached images on another computer and upload them along with the other photos?

Just wondering my options.

No convenient way, as you will have to match the filenames of the cache files.

I suggest simply to use smaller image dimensions that the webserver can handle (see the troubleshooting guide).

Another work around is to install a mirror copy Zenphoto onto your local machine, log into the admin system, tell Zenphoto to precache all files, let it flog away at it, then FTP the entire cache folder onto your 'live' server.

I am using Windows, and am using the XAMMP Apache / MySQL package for my local web server. To create your local mirror you will need to export the Zenphoto database from your live server then add it locally, then copy over the entire live folder structure. Having a local copy makes it useful to develop your own themes and Zenphoto plugins as well. ;-)
