Hello,

I installed Zenphoto (latest version). I noticed that the cache folder is getting bigger and bigger.

Can you tell me what basically zenphoto are caching? and how cache is done on the site?
I have 330 photo's on zenphoto, how zenphoto cache it?
what other features or functions or extension that zenphoto are caching?
Can I disable zenphoto from caching the photos?

Thanks a lot and hope you could give me insight.

1./2. Please read:
http://www.zenphoto.org/2009/03/troubleshooting-zenphoto/#22
http://www.zenphoto.org/2009/03/troubleshooting-zenphoto/#25

  1. By default Zenphoto does not cache anything else except the generated images and the rss feeds as static xml files (in cache_html/rss. Additionally there is a plugin to cache the pages itself as static html files.

  2. To the image cache, no.

Thanks a lot for your response.

on Image cache, how many cache that zenphoto created for a single image? I cannot find the answer on the site.

It is always one cached image for each usage, so normally a thumbnail and sized image (that is how we call the bigger image on the single image view).

So, each image, creates 4 cache file? is this correct?
$ ls _2233
IMG_2233_200_cw85_ch85_thumb.jpg IMG_2233_w44_cw44_ch33_thumb.jpg
IMG_2233_595.jpg IMG_2233_w89_cw89_ch67_thumb.jpg

is this the maximum number of cache created by zen for each image? or it can create more?

How to delete old cache? for example, I remove some of the photos from zenphoto gallery?

Zenphoto creates as many images as it needs, as I said. How many depends on your theme. If you have thumbs and a bigger images that makes two, If you have album thumbs of another size that are three, if you display images elsewhere that can be more. If you switch sizes for testing, it creates again new images.

May I suggest that you take the time to look through the administration backend first before asking questions? There are buttons to delete the image cache both on the overview page and on each album edit page.
