I think the option in printAlbumMenu/printCustomMenu functions to highlight top level active item would be very useful. Example:
Let's say I have dropdown menu with two submenus, e.g. sports-football-events. If I'm on 'events' album level, sports menu item is not considered active anymore, which is ok in some cases, and somewhat disorienting in other.

Menu manager does give you that capability. Use CSS to provide the highlights. Parent levels have the active class suffixed with -# where # increases for each level above the active menu in the chain.
