Is there a way to resize the original image when uploading. Several of my images are to big, and takes alot of space.

My second question is, Why doesn't some large images get resized and "thumbnailed".

not when uploading.. atleast not that I know of. You could use like picasa or one of those other photo editors..
or someone here made a XP Publish wizard that works great and at the end of the wizard it asks if you want to resize the original image before upload. Just do a search here for xp publish wizard and you'll find the post

As for your second question, it sounds like your server has memory limitations for PHP. This might be a useful answer:

If that doesn't work, I would recommend using Picasa, etc to resize the images before you upload.
