Hello everybody,

just installed zp on my website. I use it for a closed community to share our pictures.
Is there a possibility to inform registered user per email on new album uploads? I could not find anything in the forums.

Thank you!

Michael

No, unless you write a plugin for that. But there are RSS feeds.

There is also a utility for emailing users, but you would have to execersize that each time you made a new album.

But that has to be done manually which I assumed is not the question.

Thanks for all the answer. My skills are not sufficient enough to write a plugin. I tried the RSS.
What are the requisites for RSS? I activated it in options for Gallery and comments but RSS stays empty. Thanks!

Sorry, if you mean with "closed community" that the entire site and its albums are password protected, RSS will stay empty. If you read with an external rss reader or via a service those are of course not loggedin and therefore don't see anyhting. Everything else would be an unpleasant surprise, wouldn't?

You respectively your users have to use a browser (Firefox e.g.) to read the RSS while they have to be loggedin. Otherwise you only chance is to email them manually using the mass mail utility (overview page).

ok. I see. this expains it!
But this would mean editing (trying) the rss.php and remove the protection would do it? in theory you could receive (free) rss with the link saying there is a new upload and if you go for the link - well the you need the pasword.
Hmm what do you think? possible? I will try it tonight. hope my site still works aftewards....

No, sorry, it is internally blocked right away on getting the data itself and would require more changes than on the rss files itself (the files in the root will be gone with the coming 1.3.2 release anyway.)
