I've just updated to 1.4.0.1.
After install, setup page looks good, perform the GO.
If I try and access the site page as a user (ie not the admin page), I get:
403 Permission Denied
You do not have permission for this request //
And if I go to the admin login page, it won't let me login with my admin userid/password, it fails with:
"There was an error logging in.
Check your username and password and try again."
If I try and use Captcha to reset the password, I get:
"zenphoto_sendmail failed to send The Zenphoto information you requested to one or more recipients."
So I'm striking out in all 3 attempts at access. Any suggestions?

P.S. Note it's possible some of these issues existed before the upgrade, as I had not gone to my site or logged in as admin in a while before attempting the upgrade (I came from version 1.2.5).
There is a troubleshooting guide on password recovery, check that out. As to the sendmail error, you might try the nightly build as you may have run into an issue that has been corrected.
Upgrading directly form 1.2.5 might also be the issue. Certainly we have not tested that path.
The 403 error is comming from your web server. Perhaps there is something wrong with the .htaccess file? Try removing it. (of course, mod_rewrite will not work after that, but it is a start in finding the issue.)
Thanks for the reply and suggestions. Looking closer, I've screwed some things up (missed some files) on the upgrade, so let me clean that up, then I'll pursue your suggestions and get back to you if still not working.
In general, is it better to do an intermediate upgrade (say, from 1.2.5 to a 1.3 version, then to a 1.4), when you're coming from an old version?
Got it all working. Deleted the administrators table in the db and ran setup again to set up a new admin account, then successfully logged in. Getting all the files upgraded properly fixed general access to the site.
Only issue now is the sendmail one - will pursue that further when I get the chance.
