I find that if I upload any image larger than approx. 300kb there is a problem i.e. thumbnail does not display or the image does not display. It is not 100% identical always though i.e. I uploaded a 1.1mn image earlier (but only once)

It states a 2mb limit per image (which is fine for me as I can resize images, etc) but some friends / family who use it have no idea (or software) to resize.

An AUTO-OPTMIZER (which reduced image size to say 800x600 at 75% quality ) would be a PERFECT addition (and would reduce un-necessary storage space on all these servers maybe ??)

Good idea actually, I like it! Should be a configuration option with size and quality to "optimize on upload," or even "optimize on new image detection" to replace images you upload via FTP.
