Today I updated my ZP from 1.4.1.6 tot 1.4.2 beta (2011-12-14-trunk.
In the backend the captcha image is showing, but on the contact page no image showing and only the word code is visible.
On my previous installation(1.4.1.6) the captcha image was visible and working.(custom theme)
- captcha_background 0755
- C.php 0755
Can somebody confirm this?

It is not happening for me. Also I do not think captcha handling got changed in the beta. Of course I am not using a custom theme. Check if there is a custom contact form.
"code" would be the alt for the image so it would show if your browser does not receive the image. But why it would work on the back end but not the front I do not know.
