Hi all,
I've just installed ZenPhoto 1.4.1.6 and am working on customizing it and uploading photo's.
During this phase, I'd like my whole site to be private just to make sure no-one has a look while I'm still working on it.

My problem:
If I go to options»gallery and set "gallery type" to public I'm able to see my site and uploaded photo's. If however I set the "gallery type" to private and then go to my site I am not able to proceed.
I do get a login form, I enter my credentials and am taken back to the login form (front-end. It just says "The page you are trying to view is password protected", nothing else.

If I go to the back-end and look in the log it says that the login attempt was successful for the front-end.

I have set a master password on the gallery and a guest user account but also they don't work when the gallery is set to private.

Anyone out there with a suggestion how to set the whole install to private and be able to view it (i.e. login on the front-end)?

Did you refresh your browser cache and tried to clear all cookies? Otherwise I will have to pass this to my colleague who is the expert. Btw, Zenphoto 1.4.2 is out.

Hi,

Yeah, deleted cache and cookies. Even tried in different browsers with same result.
When did 1.4.2 get out? Just installed yesterday the 1.4.1.6...

Further update:
Just upgraded to 1.4.2 and still have the same issue.
Setting back to public did not solve it either.
Only way to view albums again is by deleting the Gallery master password and guest user and set gallery to public.
Browsers tested on:
Chrome, IE, Firefox and Opera, all of them on their latest version.

Zenpoto 1.4.2 was released yesterday. But it has been in beta and RC status for several months.

I presume you have reviewed the article on zenphoto user rights. If you are logged in as the administrator you do not need to proived any gallery passwords.

You should review the plugins you have enabled. Also the settings for cookie handling. For instance enabling the show_not_logged-in plugin would cause exactly the behavior you describe.

Thanks! I thought I went over all the installed plugins carefully but apparently not. This solved my problem (disabling show_not_logged_in)
