Try reuploading the file, maybe it got corrupted while uploading. Happens sometimes.

Make sure that your server really matches the requirements (ZP is php 5 now!) and that all permissions are set and there are no other errors.

Double check that. The error you are getting is caused by running PHP 4.

As in the KB article above, please make sure that you are in fact running PHP5. I would be willing to bet that your server is one of those servers that runs dual PHP4 and PHP5. You will probably be able to switch to PHP5 in CPanel. If not, then as the last line of the article says, you will need to contact your host to enable PHP5 on your server.

If so, it is the same as on my provider. There are no issues with that level PHP. So, either you have a corrupt file or you are not running PHP 5.2.17 on your site.

That error only happens if you visit the front-end. Visit your admin pages and see what it reports for PHP version.

Error!

Version 5.0.0 or greater is required. Version 5.3 or greater is strongly recommended. Use earlier versions at your own risk
your right im sorry but why does the control panel say 5.2?

I am glad you got it working. However, please note that installing from a "helper" script bypasses the Zenphoto setup program. The net result of this is problems like you experienced. Setup would have checked the PHP level and notified you.

It is for reasons like this that we EXPLICTLY state that we cannot support installation by helper scripts that do not follow the Zenphoto install process.

You should probably report this error to the softilicious people so that they can fix their scripts.
