sitemap-extended and rewrite suffix

hi,

again this is not a big issue but if we have the mod_rewrite option activated and have fixed a suffix (.php, .html, or whatever) for the images, this suffix does not appear in the image url's in the sitemap xml output file. we only get the images listed with their original (.jpg or .jpeg or whatever) extension.
i was wondering if this impacts the SE crawling or not, that's why i looked into it.

frank.

Ooops. you are right. I can't imagine how I could have missed that. That of course will be an issue with search crawlers as that leads to not found errors! Thanks. Will be fixed in tonight's nightly.
  • Hello,

I have never used a nightly build before. I am using version 1.3.1 and ZPfocus theme. If I want to use the fixes for the sitemap-extended plugin do I upload the zp-extensions from the nightly or just the sitemap-extended itself?
    Thank-you! - Renee
  • All of our testing goes on the entire build. So maybe the sitemap-extended changes will work by themselves or maybe not. We recommend installing the entire build unless you are willing to do the isolation testing yourself. (Of course if the change does not work in isolation, you are back to loading the entire build.)

In this case I see no reason the plugin version from the nightly should not work with the offical 1.3.1 (as said on another thread). The fix was technically an minor oversite. I have not tested though.
  • OK. I will try just uploading the sitemap-extended plugin.
    Thank-you!
  • Hello,

I uploaded just the sitemap-extended.php and sitemap.php plugins and they appear to work as they should. But just to be sure, am I suppose to run setup.php also?
  • In this case it is not necessary
