proposals for improving the plugin register_user

hello

I have some proposals for improving the plugin register_user:
- If the notification option is selected, add a message after validation of registration to indicate that a message was sent to the email address to confirm registration
- Checking the format of the email address: contact_form plugin checks the format, but not the plugin register_user

what do you think about those 2 proposals ?
if it's ok for you, i will create a ticket

Well, I did look into this (did not wait for the ticked!)

Seems that at least in the development stream both these items should be happening. Am I missing something?
