let registered users only edit their own pics in admin?

haven't been here for a while so hope you all are well!

started working on a new site.. and have a question concerning multiple users. suppose I will have a lot of users..

I want users to be able to register. no problem with the plug-in..

but I also want to use the user_group plugin to automatically define rights and a dedicated album to all new users

In the register_user plugin options I can choose between "no rights" and "see gallery" and I have to assign the other rights as admin.

but what if I want to automatically have a user_group template choosen for users who register online?

I want all users to be able to upload to one specific album but when logged in, in the admin only have them see their own image to edit delete etc. is this possible?

    1. If you haven't review again: http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/07/an-overview-of-zenphoto-users/ A few things changed with 1.4.x

    2. Zenphoto does not have rights on image level. Only for toplevel albums including their subalbums.

    If you are using the user_groups plugin, you can assign a "template" to newly registered users that will set whatever rights you want. In addition, the register_user plugin has the option of creating a "user album" for the user.

    So it should just be a matter of enabling the register_user option and assigning the new users a template that allows them to upload to their album.

    If you want only one album you will have to either allow editing to all images therein or no images therein.

    I can't see it in Options > Plugin > register_user

    Perhaps that is not available until the next release (The developmend nighlty build can give you a preview). Sometimes I forget when things were introduced. If so, there is actually a user-written plugin that does something like this. Sorry, but I do not remember the name.

    I installed the 2011-02-16 nightly build but still can't see the option. Is there another page it might be on? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place

    There are two versions of the nightly build, did you notice? One with "trunk" in the name and one with "development" in the name. The former contains only bug fixes, the latter is where the new development is.

    In the developmnt build it is the last option of the group.
