FLV player - remove preview image in player

I'm using Zenphoto to play MP4 files via a registered copy of JW's FLV Player - using the default ZP plugin for the player.

For the album screen I use JPG files with the same filename as the videos for thumbnails. This works fine. However, on the image page the FLV player displays this image as the "preview image" within the player itself. Since my thumbnails are different proportions relative to the player, they look distorted and stretched. Is there any way to simply disable a preview image in the FLV Player, just giving me a blank screen until the file is played?

I know how to do this when encoding JW Player in a regular html page, but not when it's through the ZP plugin.

The flv player plugin is not a supported plugin since Zenphoto 1.3 anymore. You have to look at its options, I don't remember them anymore. Or you have to modify the plugin directly (the flv player site has info about its options).
  • Alas! I didn't realize that and just purchased a license to it. It's a great player, although I had intended its use primarily with Zenphoto - would be great to see that plugin revived.

And if anyone else can point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Would the parameters be in the zp-extensions folder in the flvplayer.php file?

just purchased a license to it (...) would be great to see that plugin revived.
The reason we abandoned it as a official plugin is exactly this licence conflict between the FLV player licence and Zenphoto's GPL v2 licence. A short time period we carried it without the player files itself but then decided to be consequent and ship a real free player (Flowplayer3 in this case). FLV player is nice but sorry it will not be revived.

I have not looked at the plugin some time and if it still works great. You can set quite a bunch of options via the backend but if you need to add specific things you need to look into the flvplayer.php plugin file.

Feel also free to take over the plugin development as I think we stopped with version 4 or so.
