When I try to set a text field, after I hit apply in the admin screen, the field goes blank and I am unable to store anything in it.

Gallery Title
Gallery Description
Website Title

I did a full delete (except albums and cache) and ran setup and it is still doing the same.

How about basic info like server details, Zenphoto version and any errors in the server error log?

I created a new database and did a fresh install.

Now I am unable to log in after setting a username and password.

here is my error log

That means your file/folder permissions are not set correctly. Setup should have reported something. Also see the troubleshooting about the recommended settings.

Since I created the new database, all appeard fine, until I tried changeing the album thumbnail (to random). Once I hit apply, the album name disappears.

If i type in a new name for the album and hit apply, the field goes blank. I tried this with 2 other albums and the same thing happens.

I even tried the original problem of renaming my gallery. It seems that every time I attempt to change a text field I loose it.

When i do a database restore all is fine, that is until I change a text field then It starts all over again.

When I make a new album by adding a folder, the folder name appears fine.

I am running the default theme (same happens with any theme) with zenphoto version 1.4.3-BETA [10311] (Official build).

So what release is this? Note that some of the errors are 3rd party theme related (I feel dirty) which may cause the others (be sure to use the latest version of that theme as VIncent actually updates them frequently). Please try an official theme.

I deleted my error log, and set my theme to Garland. I then installed 1.4.3-BETA [10315] (Official build).

There were no error log created, so there were no errors.

I attempted to change the name of my gallery in the Options-Gallery screen and again once I typed a new gallery name and hit apply, the entire gallery title disappeared.

A restore of the database gave me my gallery title back.

In connection with the other topic I fear it might be something with your server/host. Please post some details about that. Maybe completely what setup reports.

That was the info bascially I meant. Let's stay in this topic as I assume your other topic is surely the same overall issue.

could there be some type of "No Write access" to my database?

I am able to add albums and sub albums and they all appear on my site, so I dont think that is it.

Setup does check your MySQL rights. Did it note anything? Also there should be a MySQL log. Anything in it?

The errors listed above all come from the Zenphoto debug log, not your PHP log. Unfortunately PHP fatal errors will not get logged since the script is aborted. You need to find the server PHP error log.

Hm that is a function of the register_user plugin but you have to explicity use that page (whcih it is not in standard themes if the plugin is not enabled). Also this should not harm any backend usage like saving...

Please find the mysql log as well.

I have access to a general error log, but there was nothing in there related to my zenphoto, ust a few missing files from another folder that had been removed from a old webpage.
