I have installed ZP to try it but I get the error:
Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in //zp-core/functions-basic.php on line 1760
I am hosting it in Godaddy with MySQL.

That means your PHP version must be PHP 5.4 or older which is too old. You should be using at least PHP 5.6 or PHP 7/7.2. Contact your host about switching to newer version, possibly you can even do that on your host's backend yourself.
