I am trying to upgrade from 1.5x to the latest 1.6 version. I downloaded the upgrade and followed the installation instructions. When I try to access the setup.php program I receive a message that the site is not working. I disabled the site from the control panel before updating the files.
Here is the message on the screen:
This page isn’t working
thurmontimages.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
I overwrote the files in both the Themes and zp-core as instructed.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think my problem is I was using an older version of PHP. I have also skipped three updates so I am going to install them in order as recommended. I will check back in if I have any other questions.

Solved with a little research! The forum and user guides are very helpful. If I only spent the time to search for the issue I would not have needed to open this conversation. Lesson learned once again.
