Hi all and Happy Holidays,

I'm trying to set up my first zenphoto experience and have ran into a stump that I cant get out of the ground.

My setup has green check marks on everything but I have an error at the bottom. No submit button is present.

This is the error Im getting;

DB Error, could not list tables MySQL Error: Access denied for user: '**@localhost' to database '*****_com_photos'

The identity and database name are blanked out by asterik by myself. What does this error mean? What do I have to do to fix it?

You need to download and install the nightly build. There is a problem with the special characters in your database name.

I tried the nightly install and I still get the same error posted above but, it does give me the option to use the GO button.

When i hit the GO button i get this error now:

Zenphoto Error
MySQL Query ( SELECT name, value FROM zp_options ) Failed. Error: Access denied for user: '**@localhost' to database '*****_com_photos'
It looks like your zenphoto tables haven't been created. You may need to run the setup script.

The setup script then gives me the same error as my first post.

You can try creating a database whose name has no characters other than alpha and numeric ones.

I have the same problem. There are underscores and - tokens in my database name. I can't alter these because my website is on a webhost. I tried the last nightly build (zenphoto-2008-01-10) but it doesn't work.

Can you cut and paste the setup report? The problem with tokens in the name has been fixed, so this must be something else.

Hmm, strange,
i could install in now. Probably my webhost changed some settings. I still have a problem with apache2, but I have posted that problem in an other thread.

Just tried intalling v1.1.3 Latest stable version, not nightly build)and get the following on setup.php:

PHP version 4.1.0 or greater
PHP GD support
PHP mySQL support
zp-config.php file
mySQL setup in zp-config.php
connect to MySQL
MySQL version 3.2.3 or greater
connect to the database web33-zenphoto-1
.htaccess file (RewriteEngine is ON)
.htaccess RewriteBase
albums folder
cache folder
DB Error, could not list tables MySQL Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-zenphoto-1 LIKE 'zp_%' at line 1
