just installed zenphoto. Post some pics with description on it.... but when checked the images.... i could not find the description of my picture. I highlighted the image and noticed that the description was in the middle of the picture.

Is this a bug or what?

I believe this is a problem which has been corrected in the nightly builds.

hi there,
sorry I'm very new to zenphoto (started today).
I installed the newest version of zenphoto (1.2.2) but some descriptions are situated in the middle of the pictures.
What does nightly builds mean, is that a build that I can download?
Many thanks

On the right side of http://www.zenphoto.org/ you will find a link to the nightly builds. You can download and install them the same as with the release version.

sbillard do you know when the nighly builds will be officially released? I don't want to install unreleased software in production.
Thanks!

Just to add since you are new to Zenphoto here is a little glossary about some terms that are frequently used:

Thanks for the roadmap link sbillard.
I can't find such a change in the ticket list for release 1.2.3. Will this really be fixed in the next release?
I am asking this because I am currently evaluating photo crm software for the setup of a new site.
Many thanks,
connect

Are these "nightly build" a kind of upgrade or what? I downloaded(zenphoto-2009-01-04-trunk.zip) and compared with the current zenphoto installed!

I am assuming that to install this, you have to follow the "Quick Upgrade Steps":
Quick Upgrade Steps Important note: In 1.1 and later, the /zen directory has been renamed to /zp-core. Keep that in mind if upgrading from versions prior to 1.1.
Delete the files which came with your old copy of zenphoto (These will be in the root folder of the installation, the zp-core folder and the themes folders of the distrubuted themes.) Be sure to keep your zp-config.php file or at lease make note of the MySQL information in it.
Extract the contents of the archive and upload all the files to your web site directory.
Make sure the .htaccess file is writeable.
Navigate to the visit your gallery url EXAMPLE: www.yoursite.org/zenphoto/, now setup.php should run automatically. (If it somehow does not please navigate directly to www.yoursite.org/zenphoto/zp-core/setup.php.)
Make sure everything checks out, and click go!

I am in the same situation as connectmeto I need to install it on a production environment and don't feel comfortable using unofficial releases.

thanks.

Nightly / Nightly Build / svn:
The development version (subversion) that is to become the next official release. It can be downloaded on our download page. It’s most of the time pretty stable, but may be incomplete in parts or contain bugs.
http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/08/zenphoto-glossary/

If you experience an issue with the last official version it might already been noticed or reported and probably fixed, so we recommend to try the nightly to check that out. We are depended on this user testing of improvements since we can't test everything in every combination of server setup etc ourselves. This also helps to find the mentioned possible new bugs that can sneak in with changes.

If you don't want to do that you will have to wait until the next official release is out and see if it was fixed. If it was not you will have to wait for an official version again...

Of course we don't recommend to test that on a really important production environment, but that is obvious, isn't it?
