Hey guys!
Thank you your your great peace of software ZenPhoto!
A few days ago I've upgraded to 1.2.6 from 1.2.5. Now, I've just noticed that my images are impossible to sort to my liking. I'm using the drag and drop feature to sort my images but without any luck... the images order in their own way.
Need to mention that my album is already set up to sort images manually.
What should I do?
Thank you!
Hi, i'm facing the same problem : I'm not able to sort the image within an album. When i try to drag and drop, the selected image just go to the end and that's it. unable to select another one.
Otherwise, zenphoto works great, thanks a lot for this nice software.
version: 1.2.9
Thank you
J
Similar issue here, 1.2.9 and jQuery was 72174 bytes, I tried replacing it with the one from 1.2.8 (55805 bytes), the one from 1.3.1 and the seemingly-identical one from the latest nightly (160712 bytes), but to no avail. Tested in latest Firefox as well as IE7.
My problem isn't identical though; I can reorder images just fine, but I cannot resort albums if the album has subalbums. The reordering just returns to its original layout when the Save button is pressed. Sort order is manual.
I do notice that moving individual albums around the root directory works just fine - the problem comes when I try to move an album containing sub-albums into another album. An example:
Quote:Album 1
Album 2
Please update to the current version. This is a bug in 1.2.9 we actually did post on our news section: http://www.zenphoto.org/2010/03/drag-and-drop-sorting-issue-in-zenphoto-1-2-9/
I've tried various versions of jquery as per instructions (from the author's site as well as from the ZP packages), and I also just tried the latest nightly build (upgrade installation) - still no luck with any combination I can try.
EDIT: to further clarify, in both 1.2.9 and the latest nightly build of 1.3.1, I can move albums (ones with or without sub-albums) around the root directory, and can move individual sub-albums around within their parent. However, I cannot move an album with sub-albums into another album; this causes the whole lot to reset. This perhaps suggests that this specific action is causing something to be over-written with older data; can anyone else reproduce this behaviour?
Just installed ver 1.3.1.2 thru SimpleScripts on Bluehost. The gallery is being viewed fine with PHP5. But, as with other users, I am NOT able to sort any of my albums/sub-albums using the "drag-n-drop" feature. Is there any written documentation for us "newbies" that with help with the definitions of the various sort options (manual, ID, alpha, custom, etc.). Any idea why my new installation (thru admin access) will not let me do any kind of a drag-n-drop sort?
Please read http://www.zenphoto.org/support/?terms-of-service=display with respect to third party install routines (SimpleScripts)
We have had numerous issues with instllations made in these fashions and have no ability to tell you what they have done wrong that is causing your problem.
As to the documentation, there is the users guide.
Okay. Read all of the items you pointed out - seems you are not fond of SimpleScripts. Removed the SimpleScript installation and deleted all appropriate directories. Downloaded your ZIP installation file and installed all files into a Zenphoto directory by FTP session. Created a MySql database file, and ran Setup. No gross errors reported by Setup. Gallery comes up fine (thru the admin portal). Set up 3 albums. When I left-click my mouse on the quad-arrow symbol to the left of each album (which I assume is the button to move the entry) the symbol immediately turns to a small black circle with a slash thru it. Dragging the black circle anywhere results in no change of order. This happens regardless of what I set the default sort order to (manual, ID, alpha, etc.)
I am using Win7, the latest version of Firefox, my host is Bluehost.com, PHP5. I really like Zenphoto but the inability (for me) to sort by drag-n-drop is exceptionally irritating. Is there any kind of switch that needs to be thrown, or a plug-in added to make this thing work out of the box? Does the default sort have to be set to manual, or ID, or ??

Why that is my collegue did explain.
Anyway, I still can't reproduce that with Firefox 3.6.8 , Safari 4.1.2 or Opera 10 (our admin layout does not look perfect in Opera but we don't specifically test that one).
Actually don't even know what "small black circle with a slash thru" you are referring to. The quad-arrow sympbol will actually get transparent with the whole line. Screenshot:

The sorting is done via jQuery Javascript and has actually nothing to do with your server. Als there is no plugin or option needed to be set. So make sure you have Javascript enabled in your browser. Also see if there are any errors either in your browser or your server's error log.
