I just installed zenphoto version 1.2.6 [4654] current nightly.

There seems to be some problem with the contact plugin. It does not send the emails even if it says so. As well email field seems to be always needed even if marked to be hidden or not necessary. Email is not sent ether to the email given if the field is avalible.

as well the admin tabs are all over the place, and layout all over the admin goes all over the place. See screenshot.

The tabs thing is something we are working on.

The contact plugin has not been changed for some time. Do you get other e-mails, or is mailing not working in general? What is the message you get back when the mail is not sent?

I have just tested this. There is an error in the email handling. That will be corrected in tonight's build. Otherwise, I have no problem sending contacts.

I figured as much that you where playing with the tabs...

I will update tomorrow and see if it works. The error with having to give email address is like this. Here I only have Subject and Message for example, and it asks for email address even though the field is not available.

Ok, until tonight's build e-mails are required. So long as it is not something else. There was a coding error on the check.

For this project I am working on I have been asked to have email as optional.

I installed [4674] just now, Did I misunderstand you about the email being fixed? It still does not send.

The test for requiring an email address was fixed. There never was a problem with actually sending the email.

I wonder what the problem, is I will try and install the same version I have locally and see if I can send email using that one.

Just a note: the nightly builds have two mailers included. Whichever one you are currently using, you could try using the other. I think the two are named "zenphoto_sendmail" and "PHPMailer".

I am using the old one. I tried the newer one as well but same problem.

After trial and error I am not able to get the contact form going, I have one problem with it, it does only send the email to the one given in Admin it does not send the email the user gave as his own email in the contact form. I guess it has something to do with the hosting plan I am installing this on. As the email the user gives is an external one.

The mailing to the user is done through the CC headers. So perhaps that is what is not working on your server.

I will report back when I have spoken to that hosting company, I have never used them before it was a project that I was asked to do.
