when i try and change the default video size from 520/390, to 1280/720, and hit save, it reverts back to original. Reproduced by other forum individual. Also quicktime controls aren't showing in the video window.

Why do you double post? I already confirmed this bug on your other thread.

You probably did it because of the separate bug discussion forum but fact is that I basically always read via RSS and don't really take care what is in what sub forum any way. This is one is closed therefore.
