I've activated dynamic-locale and seo-locale plugins and I have the following problems:

  1. With or without seo-locale enabled my browser doesn't remember the language I've selected when I browse from page to page. I have checked in the cookies list, and I see that there are two fields: lang and langedit, and they are both empty.

  2. The other problem is that seo-locale doesn't seem to work as described in the seo-locale.php comments. I have mod rewrite enabled and my links display the se-friendly version. At language I have the settings: HTTP-accept language and multi-lingual checkbox checked.

Is there something that I'm missing to do? The only change I see in the URL with or without seo-locale activated is an "#" atached at the end of the url everytime when I chose another language

There is a fix for forgetting the language in the nightly builds.

seo_locale does not create those links. It just processes them if they are found. You have to make those yourself if you wish to use them.

Thanks for your answer! Yet still I have some problems.

I've replaced the dynamic-locale.php file from my gallery with the one from the nightly build (06.06.2010). The browser still forgets the language.

How should I append to a link the language selector. Which is the syntax?

Does it remain displayed in the url when the user moves to another page? That would be lovely for google...

Maybe I should mention my intetions . I figured out how to use dynamic-locale to translate the whole site, and I'd like to make 3 translations: romanian, english and french. I guess if I put a dynamically generated link in the header, say: "read english translation" with the href attribute appended with the coresponding language selector, that should be enough for google to be able to index diferent translations with diferent url's. I quess it works even if the link loses the lang selector while browsing leaving the browser to relly on the cookies for the right translation. I think so because every page would have a link to it's translation giving googlebot links to all translated pages in all 3 languages.

Sry if I'm posting questions from other topics. I tried to search the forum for some answers but I'm still confused.

Waiting for your suggestions. Thanks!

Update:

Ok, I've figured out how to write the links with the language selector.
The cookie seems to work when I make a call via the link for a certain translation.
Only one problem remaining. If I have de_DE for example as the language selector, it updates the cookie and all the pages are in german but when I chose another language from the locale dropdown menu at refresh what I get is still german translation.

I guess it doesn't matter so much as long as I insert the dynamic link for the page. I'll disable dynamic-locale and go along with grafic flags at the top of the page

Update 2:

Ok, I see that sitemap-extended takes care of all of my worries as acylian sugested. I gues all I have to do is to get busy translating

You need to upgrade. The seo_locale plugin that can do that (although Zenphoto does not need the language in the url) was introduced in Zenphoto 1.3 but that is as outdated as 1.2.8 is.
