I am another happy Zenphoto user that is having trouble with the Blank Page issue. After uploading the package and running setup and entering the MySQL details, I get blank pages on /index.php, /zp-core/setup.php, and /zp-core/admin.php.
I added error reporting to the .htaccess file, and no errors are being generated. My PHP build is 5.1.2, which I know is not what is recommended.
Google tells me that this has been reported many times over the years and versions. I had a recent installation on another server that worked perfectly well. I feel pretty sure that this is a configuraton issue, and I was wondering what current common wisdom might say...thanks!
I am just wondering if anyone has ever come upon some reasons why this might be happening, perhaps something needs to be added to .htaccess, something needs to be enabled in the php build, etc.
I'm not necessarily addressing the developers, I am hoping that someone in the community who has faced this will post what they found and how they overcame the problem.
There are many scenarios where is is difficult to check the server error log, perhaps the solution is something one could undergo apart from that.
If you are installing programs on your server your really should be able to look into the server error log. No one is able to help as not all servers behave the same. Ask your host for that log.
Delete your current htaccess file and re-run setup. It provides an option to create one.
